About Tim

Studies and Background

Tim Carmichael is a professional electric and acoustic upright bassist from Colorado. Starting at the age of 15, he has played in Colorado for over 25 years. Tim studied at the University of Colorado in Boulder and Metropolitan State College of Denver with a focus on classical and jazz studies. Tim has taught private lessons for over 20 years and currently has lessons studios in Longmont and Louisville .

Tim’s current projects include Graphite Addiction, 3ology, Cspot Groove, his own TAC Jazz Trio and first original CD the TAC Project.

Gear

Tim plays a 1920’s vintage Czech Upright , a Tobias 5 string Killer B, and a 4 string Fender Jazz Fretless. Tim uses Acoustic Image and Ampeg Amplification.
